My artistic path has been full of interesting detours and other meanderings. Starting with pencil and crayon as a child, moving on to watercolor (much later) acrylics and colored pencil. At Stanford I graduated in Art History but I am largely self-taught when it comes to making art. I love working with color and especially enjoy the ways watercolor combines and flows on the paper.
I am inspired by the human form and the variety of the face. My focus is portraiture.
My preferred mediums are watercolor and acrylics - watercolor for its subtlety and acrylic for its texture.
I also have begun to create artists books - working with papers to create special and (I think) beautiful books. I especially enjoy making books from recycled materials.
I love the textures in Fiber Art and have begun making felted vessels.
I am inspired by the colors of nature and the human face - each face unique and suggesting a story.
